Doh he said again. It was irritating to me that he couldn't just say "Nathan". Why was my younger brother struggling, to say a simple name? The truth was I knew he was always going to struggle. On the surface he looked completely "normal" but mentally he was always going to be disadvantaged. A bad roll of the dice meant he had a 1 in 500,000 genetic difference at birth. 


20 years later he can say my name but still struggles to read at a Grade 6 level. He beat the odds and lives a pretty “normal” life…Be kind you can’t see the struggle.
